Marsh receives the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award

Marsh shortlisted as a finalist for the Employer of the Year Award in the 2020 British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.

Marsh's Colleague Resource Group (CRG) — Marsh Military Network — for veterans, reservists, military spouses and families, and those with battle injuries, wounded or sickness, has received the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award.

The ERS encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate their support to the defence and armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Marsh is now among 127 companies to be given the gold award in 2020, and is the first major insurance broker to achieve gold status.

Commenting on the award, Chris Lay, CEO, UK & Ireland, Marsh, said: "Marsh is committed to supporting ex-service personnel, reservists and their families. I'm delighted that Marsh has attained the ERS gold award in such a short space of time, which is testament to the work of our CRG and allies throughout the organisation."

Marsh actively encourages colleagues to participate in military activities such as the Armed Forces Day, London Poppy Day, the Army Engagement Group event held at Mansion House, Remembrance Day Celebrations, events at the Honourable Artillery Company, and more.

Marsh is also an active supporter of the Lloyd's Military Network (LMN), which encourages the employment of veterans and reservists into the insurance market. Marsh has so far employed more than 20 ex-service personnel through the LMN and other networks.
