Excellence in Risk Management India 2020 – Spotlight on Resilience
The latest edition of our report, Risk Management India 2020, Spotlight on Resilience: Risk Management During COVID-19, which has been prepared by Marsh India in collaboration with RIMS, the risk management society™.
This report is based on the findings from an online survey of C-suite executives and risk professionals from leading firms across 26 industries, conducted by Marsh and RIMS in August 2020, along with expert input from Marsh and RIMS specialists.
The report, launched at RIMS’s Risk Forum 2020 India on December 4, equips established and aspiring risk management professionals in the country with key insights on India’s rapidly evolving corporate risk landscape.
In this year’s findings, the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, or a new public health crisis, emerged as the top risk concern for Indian companies. Cyber-attacks, data fraud or theft, failure of critical infrastructure, fiscal crises, and extreme weather events, were highlighted among the other top risks for Indian businesses. The majority of survey respondents (85%) said the pandemic necessitated a shift to remote work, a move that has increased their organisation’s exposure to a potential cyber-attack.
This year’s report examined the need for building organisational resiliency to a variety of low-frequency but high-severity risks. However, while many senior business leaders are shifting their attentions to questions of resilience, more than one-fifth of respondents said they do not assess or model emerging risks.
We hope this report will help engage you in continuing the conversation on risks. Your feedback and ideas are important to us. Please feel free to reach out to us at email@example.com for any discussion about the report or any other risk issues.
