As Chief Client Officer, Steve is responsible for overseeing Marsh New Zealand’s client retention strategy, ensuring we continue to support and meet the needs of our major clients. Steve also sits on the Marsh New Zealand Executive Committee.

Steve has a proven track record of success developing and implementing strategies that deliver value for clients and Marsh, ranging from traditional insurance placements to alternative forms of risk transfer. Steve has been a driving force behind establishing service frameworks that create a positive experience for clients across the business. He has supported many of Marsh’s largest corporate and government clients, leveraging his expertise in insurance across multiple sectors.

Steve has more than 30 years’ experience across multiple sectors. He joined Marsh in 2001 as a Business Development Executive, before assuming the role of Executive Director of Sales and Development in 2006. Prior to this, he held a number of positions in sales, business development and client-facing roles.

For a significant part of his career Steve was a professional Rugby Union referee, officiating games at an international level from 1994 to 2001, including three Rugby World Cup matches.

Steve Walsh lives and works in Auckland, Tāmaki Makaurau.
