Josh Roach appointed Country Head, Marsh New Zealand

Marcus Pearson to lead Marsh Specialty, Pacific; Martyn Sinclair appointed Head of Corporate, Marsh New Zealand

Auckland, March 1, 2021 – Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced the appointment of Josh Roach as Country Head of Marsh New Zealand. Based in Auckland, Mr. Roach succeeds Marcus Pearson, who returns to Sydney to assume Mr. Roach’s previous role of Head of Marsh Specialty, Pacific. Both report to Nick Harris, CEO, Marsh Pacific.

As Country Head Mr. Roach, who took up his role on 1 March 2021, leads Marsh’s operations across Marsh New Zealand, which includes offices in Auckland, Cambridge, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hawkes Bay, Nelson, New Plymouth, Queenstown, Tauranga, and Wellington. He will also oversee Marsh’s operations in Fiji, working closely with Country Head, Patrick Anthes.

Mr. Roach was previously Head of Marsh Specialty for the Pacific region for five years. He joined Marsh in 2009 and has held a number of senior broking and risk advisory positions in Asia Pacific, including Leader of the Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) Practice for Asia. Before joining Marsh, Mr. Roach spent six years at Willis Towers Watson, where he held various leadership roles in captive management, alternative risk transfer, and mergers and acquisitions advisory in Sydney and London.

Based in Sydney, Mr. Pearson oversees Marsh Specialty’s Energy and Power, Financial and Professional Risks (FINPRO), Cyber, PEMA, Credit Specialties – including Trade Credit, Political Risk and Surety – Aviation, Marine, and Construction Practices for the Pacific region. Mr. Pearson has over 20 years of leadership experience; he previously served as Country Head for Marsh New Zealand and oversaw Marsh Fiji’s operations for five years.

Marsh also announced today the appointment of Martyn Sinclair as Head of Corporate, New Zealand. Based in Auckland, he reports to Mr. Roach. Marsh New Zealand’s Corporate division, under Mr. Sinclair’s leadership, delivers risk management advice, insurance brokerage, and claims advocacy services to mid-size and large organizations across New Zealand.
