NZ Police: Expatriate Medical Claims
New Zealand Police insures nominated employees and their dependants whilst on long-term posts outside of New Zealand on the business of the Police. In the event that an Insured person is injured as above, normal internal procedures should be followed
Fully complete a claim form and return it to Dean Wells at Marsh enclosing all receipts and including your bank account details. Claim settlements are paid by direct credit.
Claims made in foreign currency will be converted to NZD by the insurer to calculate settlement using the exchange rate that applied at the time the expense was incurred or the loss was suffered. e.g. If you incurred costs in AUS$ but paid on a NZ credit card, the NZ credit card converted amount should be what is claimed.
NZ Police and the insurer are not liable for any difference between the amount claimed, the amount settled, any difference in the exchange rate between when the loss occurred and the claim is settled, or for any foreign exchange bank fees.
Contact “Allianz Global Assistance” on +64 9 486 9025 (reverse charge telephone number or include call cost as part of your claim if not able to reverse charges) and quote policy number. They will arrange for the necessary action to be taken. A completed claim form should also be forwarded to Kyle or Dean.
