Making a Claim

Player Insurance

If you have purchased this insurance (either individually or via your team) and wish to make a claim please download a claim form, complete and send to Marsh (see Contact Us for details):

Important information regarding Player Insurance Claims

To claim for Medical Expenses or Income Protection you must be a registered player and have purchased the insurance from this site or via your club secretary/treasurer or team manager for your team.

To make a claim under this insurance cover you must have a registered ACC case number and ACC must have accepted your claim.

There is no cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

Medical Expenses

Cover is for expenses over and above what ACC pays.

Please provide your Medical Invoices clearly showing any ACC deductions or ACC entitlements with the completed claim form.

If you have private medical cover or your employer provides you with medical cover then you must claim on these first. Send their Statement of Payment and a copy of their claim form with your claim.

We will pay expenses over and above these insurances, subject to the policy terms and conditions – Contact Marsh for full details of policy cover.

Income Protection

Cover is for 80% of your first week's loss of income up to the maximum amount stated.

Please provide your ACC letter of wage/income entitlement, or wage evidence four week’s prior to the injury with the completed claim form.

You must be certified as not fit for work by a medical practitioner and have it confirmed on the claim form that your employer has not paid you for the first week’s absence.

Cover is only provided where you are not eligible for paid sick leave. You must be in permanent or regular casual employment at the time of injury and there is no cover for less than one week off.

Personal Accident Insurance

In the event you have an accident which might give rise to a claim under this policy you should Contact Marsh as soon as possible. Our claims staff will advise you on what you need to do next.

Club Liability Insurance

It is essential that you contact Marsh as soon as possible of any claim or potential claim against the club or any individual involved with the club.

It is also extremely important not to admit liability or discuss the matter with a third party. Marsh claims staff will guide you as to what to do and how to handle any third parties.
