Pricing for financial and professional lines — which includes cyber, directors and officers (D&O) liability, crime, financial institutions, and professional indemnity — increased 30%, on average, in the first quarter, the same as in the prior quarter.  Where pricing increases were once driven by D&O, it is now driven by cyber.

  • In line with general global trends, rates of pricing increase moderated across most financial lines.
  • The decline in the pace of pricing increases in D&O was largely driven by increased capacity that allowed for the restructuring of programs and replacement of more expensive capacity.
  • Cyber insurance pricing increased 64%, on average, in the quarter.
