A Winner of the 2020 Gartner Eye on Innovation Award Americas

Marsh developed a digital solution for marine insurance leveraging machine learning and behavioral analytics on real-time vessel movement and historical claims to identify and reduce the risks.

This award from Gartner recognises the innovative use of digital technology-enabled capabilities, products or services to highlight "best-in-class" financial industry initiatives launched within the past 12 months. Marsh’s Marine Insurance Innovation made it as one of the nine finalists for the Americas Region which included competitors in the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning domain.

This is a major recognition for Marsh Advisory Services working with our Global Marine practice and InsureTech partner, Concirrus, as it demonstrates the strength of harnessing the power of data and analytics to unlock the value for our customers, our organisation and the industry.

Marsh identified a need for marine insurance to respond to technological disruptions in the industry, as it is one of the oldest forms of insurance. The company entered an exclusive partnership with InsurTech, Concirrus, to develop a digital solution for marine insurance that enables collaboration between the broker, clients and insurers. The digital ecosystem, called Quest Marine, leverages machine learning and behavioural analytics on real-time vessel movement and historical claims to identify and reduce the risks.
