Leading the Change We Want to See

We respect every Marsh colleague as an individual, and believe that diversity of thought, opinions, and skills help us improve the services we provide to our clients.

At Marsh, our approach to inclusion and diversity is deliberate. We set out to intentionally facilitate a culture of inclusion and understanding, enhancing the colleague experience.

We strive to be the employer of choice in our industry by creating an inclusive environment, where every colleague is valued, respected, and heard. We are committed to investing in programs that benefit and support the communities in which we work and belong.

Through our relationships, we are able to make a positive, sustainable impact on our global and local communities. In Australia, this includes our relationship with The Clontarf Foundation, whilst globally this includes The British Red Cross, The Cherie Blair Foundation, and Junior Achievement.

The more diverse our backgrounds and experiences, the more we can achieve working together. We believe that inclusion means more than acceptance – it means belonging.

We deliver our diversity and inclusion ambitions through a range of strategic cultural initiatives championed by our executive, as well as our Australian and New Zealand Inclusion and Diversity committees.  Our Colleague Resource Groups bring together passionate individuals who are working to drive change to realise the greater good through Marsh in specific areas.

Marsh McLennan is a proud member of the Diversity Council of Australia, and the Australian Network on Disability. Through these partnerships, we seek to learn from subject matter experts and industry leaders as we progress our diversity and inclusion agenda.

Marsh is compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, for the 2022-3 year. A copy of the Compliance Report is available here.

PRIDE

Marsh PRIDE strives to foster an inclusive environment by raising awareness of LGBTIQ+ issues, building a culture of empowerment, providing networking opportunities and helping to drive business development. Marsh Australia PRIDE launched in 2019 and works closely with Marsh PRIDE Resource Groups globally and within Marsh McLennan businesses as well as PRIDE networks across other companies in the insurance industry.

Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee

Our RAP committee is dedicated to making a sustainable contribution to the greater inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the communities and workplaces in areas where we operate. In alignment with our global core commitment of ‘Living the Greater Good’, Marsh has committed to a journey of reconciliation.  We are proud to share our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan  (RAP). Our RAP is a blue print for our work with colleagues and contacts within our sphere of influence, which aims to build an increased awareness and recognition of the importance of reconciliation actions.

Women and Allies at Marsh

The 'Women & Allies at Marsh' (WAM) network aims to advance women's careers at Marsh by creating a gender inclusive workplace, where gender is not a barrier to fulfilling careers or personal aims. The group creates a powerful support network, uplifting women through different career and life stages and boosting mentoring and coaching opportunities to upskill our female talent for the next step.

WAM partners with not-for-profit organisations such as 'Share the Dignity' to support women's causes and build an environment where everyone feels included.

Marsh is a Work180 Endorsed Employer for women, reflecting our strong commitment to the advancement of female careers and removing barriers to inclusion at all levels.
