Gary Okely is Head of Public Sector, JLT Risk Solutions, a business of Marsh McLennan that provides risk advisory and insurance solutions to public sector clients in the Pacific region.

He is also Head of Public Sector for Marsh McLennan in the Pacific Region, and sits on the Marsh Pacific Executive Committee.

With more than 40 years’ experience working in global insurance in Australia, Asia and London, Gary’s deep expertise in risk, advisory and claims management services has been invaluable in creating innovative and tailored solutions to support the risk requirements of the government and not-for-profit sectors. He has also supported clients to build resilience and pursue emerging opportunities.

Throughout his career, Gary has managed multinational risk programs across Asia, and created a specialist business for Australian community-based organisations. Today, he leads a team that services more than 500 local councils and multiple government organisations across Australia.

Gary is the President of Australia’s National Insurance Brokers Association, a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, and sits on a number Boards, including the Local Government Mutual Risk Scheme Board for New South Wales.

Gary lives and works in Adelaide, Kaurna land.
