Marsh appoints Catherine Osborne as Chief Claims Officer, Pacific

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced the appointment of Catherine Osborne to the newly-created role of Chief Claims Officer, Pacific. Ms. Osborne, who will be based in Sydney, will take up her role in January 2022 and report to Nick Harris, CEO, Marsh Pacific.

Ms. Osborne, who will join Marsh from law firm Polczynski Robinson, brings more than 25 years’ experience as a lawyer and company director. With a background in insurance and reinsurance law, she has significant expertise in the areas of professional indemnity, directors and officers litigation, cyber risk, privacy, commercial litigation, and class action lawsuits. She has also served for nine years as a Non-Executive Director of Zurich Australian Superannuation Pty Limited.

In her role, Ms. Osborne will provide strategic advice to Marsh clients on complex and large claims, capitalising on her legal training and years of experience to ensure clients receive the best advice on negotiating and settling claims in an expedient manner. She will also assist in managing Marsh’s claims professionals across the region as they advise clients on how to best minimise the cost, impact, and frequency of claims as well as advocating on their behalf for successful recoveries.
