Andy McKay leads Marsh Risk New Zealand’s Construction and Trade Credit practice. He is responsible for shaping the firm’s approach to complex construction risks and large-scale project partnerships, overseeing the delivery of specialist risk advisory, insurance placement and claims strategy for construction and engineering clients across New Zealand.  

With more than 25 years in the insurance sector, Andy brings a rare combination of underwriting, claims and broking experience that helps Marsh and its clients navigate the full lifecycle of construction risk. His deep technical knowledge of construction and engineering products, paired with international and domestic experience, enables him to design pragmatic risk-transfer solutions, improve contract and insurance terms, and support clients through claims and dispute resolution when incidents occur. 

Andy has been with Marsh since 2023, where in his previous role he was Corporate Branch Manager, Wellington, Marsh Risk New Zealand. He also brings significant expertise advising major clients and projects across the construction and risk sectors, having held senior positions with Vero, Aon, Lumley and QBE.
