David Wigley leads the Commercial division and strategy of Marsh Risk in New Zealand. In his role, he is responsible for driving growth and client retention across the New Zealand market, and ensuring Marsh delivers tailored risk management solutions that meet the evolving needs of local businesses. He also sits on the Marsh Risk New Zealand Executive Committee.

With a career spanning more than 20 years across diverse roles and industries, David brings a deep understanding of a broad range of client challenges and needs, which has been instrumental in driving strong results for Marsh and fostering trusting relationships that last. David’s early career as a professional cricketer and coach continues to shape David’s leadership style and approach to business – instilling discipline, resilience, teamwork and a strong work ethic. Following his professional cricketing career, he led sales teams across a diverse range of sectors including risk, healthcare and real estate.

David has been with Marsh since 2020, where he was Sales Leader for the Risk Management division of Marsh Risk in London. In 2024, he moved to New Zealand where he assumed the role of Growth Leader before assuming his current role.

David works in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau.
