Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced the appointment of Nick Horton as the Senior Advocate in the Claims Advocacy team of Marsh Australia, effective 2 January, 2021. Based in Melbourne, he will report to Luke Stratford, Head of Claims Solutions, Marsh, Pacific.
In this newly-created role, Mr. Horton will be responsible for the development of claims settlement strategies for major and complex property and casualty claims, driving claims from notification to resolution.
Mr. Horton brings over 21 years of experience, having held a variety of senior claims roles at Suncorp Group and RSA Group. After an initial period as a Lloyd’s insurance broker, he relocated to Australia continuing a career that included management roles in insurance underwriting, reinsurance, and claims.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Stratford said: “In uncertain economic times, it is imperative that clients have their claims paid expeditiously. As someone who has worked on many of the largest and most complicated claims in the Australian insurance market over much of the last two decades, Nick will be asset to our clients as they seek swift resolutions from insurers.”
