Uncover what’s driving wind‑farm claims across the Nordics and how operators, insurers and asset owners can better manage risk. The Loss Scenarios & Learnings 2026 report analyses insurance claims from 2020–2025 in Sweden, Norway and Finland to reveal where losses concentrate, which components are most vulnerable, and how claim drivers are evolving across the region.
Our regional analysis shows machinery breakdown is the single largest cause of claims (44% of incidents) while blades are the most frequently affected component (40% of claims). We also identify growing trends in lightning and impact damage, and individual claim values reaching as high as ~€6m. These findings translate directly into more informed underwriting, targeted maintenance programmes and resilience investments that reduce downtime and limit financial exposure.
