Digital trading at Marsh Risk

Transforming the way Marsh trades with the insurance market. Faster risk placement, better data insights, and electronic connections to underwriters.

At Marsh Risk, we’re transforming the way we trade with the insurance market by digitising our data and connecting to underwriters electronically.

As at Q2 2026,  93% of the specialty risks we placed from our UK office were digitally traded. Trading digitally boosts our efficiency by reducing manual tasks and helps us to achieve faster turnaround times by reducing the risk of error.

Introducing Broker WorkBench, Marsh’s new digital insurance placement platform

Broker WorkBench (BWB) is a new tool that’s been developed by our brokers to connect with underwriters electronically. Using BWB, our brokers can send requests to the London insurance market, negotiate terms, and bind contracts without going back and forth over email, avoiding the need to re-enter the same information multiple times.

This smoother way of working gives us more time to spend with our clients, allowing us to focus on delivering excellent service and increasing innovation.

New technology, new insights

The data we’re able to gather electronically through BWB gives us greater insight for benchmarking our client’s risks. We’re also able to enhance decision-making by digitally matching risks to the best solutions available in the insurance market, blending our broker’s judgement, expertise, and market relationships with cutting-edge technology.

Impact on underwriters

Working with Marsh means working with a broker at the forefront of digital transformation in the UK insurance market. Our investment in technology reduces costs for underwriters by saving them time rekeying data, improving their operational efficiency.

We are collaborating with market participants to ensure our digital tools meet their needs, providing a high-quality, data-driven service that supports better risk assessment and underwriting decisions. Marsh is committed to offering a connected, responsive, and innovative trading experience, making us a key partner in shaping the future of insurance.
