All employers in WA must nominate an employee to have day-to-day responsibility for the Injury Management System.

In small business the owner often fills this role. A medium-sized business may designate the role on a part or full-time basis. Large businesses may need to appoint several Return-to-Work Coordinators across many sites.

This 1 Day course assists participants to understand how to develop an Injury Management System, how to provide effective injury management and develop return to work programs in accordance and addresses the changes with implementation of the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023, effective from 1 July 2024.

Who should attend

This course targets any Return to Work Coordinators or other employees that have some responsibility in managing an injured worker or developing a business Injury Management System (e.g. HR).

  • Overview of the new Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023.
  • Overview of effective injury management concepts.
  • Components of an employer’s Injury Management System.
  • Role of the Return-to-Work Coordinator.

The NSW introduction to RTW coordination course is an interactive full day learning experienced designed to complement SIRA’s regulatory 14 online modules.

Held via Zoom online and face to face in various locations.

Who should attend

The course is suited to individuals either commencing in or recently introduced to Return to Work Coordination roles who are seeking a shared learning workshop with other individuals in similar career positions.

  • Role of RTW Coordinator

  • Icare and Insurer Agents (including how weekly payments and premiums are calculated)
