Meet Daniel

I lead Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A practice for Latin America and the Caribbean. I assist clients with their risk and insurance needs when they are buying or selling a business, including transactional risk insurance. Our practice also advises on portfolio insurance programs for some of the world and the region’s largest financial sponsors.

How does a hybrid work environment support you in doing your work?

Ironically, the hybrid and digital work environment has assisted me with both colleague and client communications. Given my regional role, I can "be" in Sao Paulo in the morning and Mexico City in the afternoon. Additionally, the flexibility allows me to do simple things, like drop my kids off at school a couple of times a week, which would not have happened in the past. Having said that, hybrid is key as human interaction is critical, and it has been great to be back in the office.

Tell us something important about your family or background that helped form the person and colleague you are today?

Coming out is not easy. In fact, over 20 years ago, some colleagues knew that I was gay before my family. Marsh McLennan and Marsh’s public support for the LGBTQ+ community has made me comfortable to bring my whole self to work and challenged me as a leader not to accept the status quo. I'm proud to be the executive sponsor for Marsh's PRIDE colleague resource group, which is focused on LBGTQ+ colleagues and allies, and open to all employees. The journey continues, and it is great that our company is leading the way around the world.
