Handling of Complaints

We constantly strive to provide our clients with excellent customer service and always welcome their views. We are committed to dealing with all complaints efficiently, effectively and fairly.

Please be sure to include:

  1. Name, surname and domicile of the complainant,  with their telephone number where possible;
  2. Identity of the Marsh person or persons the complaint relates to;
  3. A description of the reason for the complaint and the policy number the complaint relates to;
  4. Any document that may be useful in order to fully investigate the circumstances of the complaint.

The Complaints Department will respond within 45 days from the date of its receipt, using the same communication method as the initial complaint.

In any case, if the policy holder, insured party or beneficiary is unsatisfied with the response, or if the intermediary fails to respond within 45 days, they can contact IVASS including the information requested above from (1) to (4), together with a copy of the complaint submitted to Marsh S.p.A. and any response received.

The entitled parties have the possibility of appealing to the Judicial Authority or to alternative dispute resolution systems including, for example, the possibility of appealing to the Mediation Body set up at the Chamber of Commerce to the place of residence or main domicile of the Contracting Party or of the parties who intend to enforce the rights arising from the contract.

In the event of collaboration in the execution of insurance mediation activities pursuant to article 22 of Law Decree 179/2012 (e.g. Broker with another Broker, Broker with an Agent), complaints shall be handled by the intermediary who has a direct relationship with the Insurance Company, which will communicate the complaint outcome.

Terms of Engagement

The general conditions under which Marsh offers its services is defined under the terms of engagement and occasionally via a personalised service level agreement. A copy of these documents is provided to the client prior to entering into a contract with Marsh.
