Risk in Context Podcast: Global Risk and Resilience

The Global Risks Report 2021, which is produced annually by the World Economic Forum with the support of Marsh McLennan and others, offers valuable perspectives on a range of major risks.

This episode of Marsh’s Risk in Context podcast features Carolina Klint, Marsh’s Risk Management Leader for Continental Europe, and Reid Sawyer, Head of Marsh’s Emerging Risks Group, who discuss what the report’s key findings mean for businesses that are looking to become more resilient.

Key Takeaways

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted and exacerbated critical global risks affecting businesses and society, including cyber and digital threats and geopolitical perils, many of which are interconnected.
  • Amid these threats, businesses are increasingly focusing on investing in resilience — and risk professionals have a vital role to play.
  • Organisations must better connect risk with strategy and develop metrics that enable them to better understand and measure risk and resilience.
