Matthew Davies

Matthew Davies leads the New Zealand Specialty business strategy and operations, supporting clients to access innovative and tailored insurance and risk management solutions that meet their unique needs. Matthew also sits on the Marsh Executive Committee.
With more than 27 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Matthew uses his foresight and expertise to help Marsh stay ahead of industry trends and proactively service clients’ evolving and complex needs.
He is passionate about driving a culture of collaboration, trust and excellence at Marsh to create cohesive, high-performing teams that work together to achieve better results for clients. He has also helped lay the foundation for continued growth and excellence amongst his teams by actively championing team building and community volunteering initiatives.
Matthew started his career in various risk advisory roles, first with Marsh and then Willis, before moving to Lumley, where he gained exposure to liability insurance and advanced to a number of senior positions. In 2015, he moved to NZI where he oversaw regional and national sales teams, before returning to Marsh in 2023 to assume his current position.
