Social landlords can support social inclusion through the provision of insurance schemes that enable tenants to protect their household contents. As a long-established provider of risk and insurance solutions to the tenanted real estate sector Marsh’s dedicated tenants’ contents insurance team (based at our Newcastle Centre of Excellence) can help you source and run an insurance scheme that is right for you and your tenants. We currently administer in excess of 320 schemes countrywide.

We are endorsed by Supporting Communities NI (SCNI) and appointed by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). We are also the dedicated broker to the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) who offer what we believe to be the only Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) compliant tenants' contents insurance scheme.

Our services in this area include contents insurance, insurance schemes for “Right to Buy”, and catastrophe cover. We have provided contents insurance schemes to landlords for over 14 years and have gained a wealth of knowledge of the tenants’ contents insurance sector and the challenges facing our landlords and tenants.

We work very closely with financial inclusion groups to enable us to fully understand the difficulties facing some tenants and allow us to tailor our service and insurance provision to provide a product that is available to tenants who may be financially excluded.
