Grenfell Tower Fire: Risk Management and Insurance Implications
Marsh has released a new adviser, Grenfell Tower Fire: Risk Management and Insurance Implications.
The recent tragedy at Grenfell Tower, in which the 24-storey building caught fire, resulting in at least 80 people dead or presumed dead, has raised some serious questions around fire safety in high-rise residential buildings.
Already, it is becoming clear that this dreadful event will have wide-ranging impacts in terms of the way fire safety is managed in the UK, and how buildings are designed and maintained.
Marsh's adviser examines how this incident is likely to affect insurance coverage, as well as what clients should be focusing on to mitigate fire risks. This includes looking at building construction, materials, and fire systems across all properties and reassessing emergency and crisis response planning.
