The Leader: Independent Schools – Autumn 2014
The autumn 2014 edition of The Leader looks at how schools that employ nurses are likely to be affected by changes to the Royal College of Nursing indemnity scheme.
In addition, you will also find articles assessing the impact of the Mesothelioma Act on employer’s liability premiums, the importance of business interruption insurance, and on page four you will find a Q&A with David Hanson, chief executive officer at the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS). David provides us with an interesting insight into his career background, his role at IAPS, and looks at some of the challenges and opportunities facing the independent prep school sector.
Finally, we are delighted to bring news of our attendance the national conference of Independent Outdoor on 17 November 2014, at Malvern College. The day centres around a “mock trial” based upon an outdoor pursuits trip that goes badly wrong. The day will be suitable for staff with responsibility for adventurous activities, educational visit coordinators, and for bursars and deputies, especially those who act as health and safety officers for their school.
