Chikara Nakanishi
President & Representative Director Marsh Japan, Inc.
Nakanishi joined Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. in 1989, where he worked in the International Corporate Insurance Division conducting risk management for foreign and Japanese companies. In 1992, he began working for Sedgwick Japan, Inc. (currently Marsh Japan, Inc.), the Japanese branch of Sedgwick (currently Marsh LLC), the largest Lloyd’s broker. At Sedgwick, he handled risk management and formulated special insurance programs for Japanese businesses. He was appointed general manager in 1997.
Nakanishi was responsible for creation of the Affinity Business Division in 1999 and became its general manager. He focused on introduction and operational support regarding benefits programs for Japanese businesses and built the foundations for the company’s consumer business. In 2007, Nakanishi was appointed director of Marsh Japan and oversaw new sales, the consumer business, M&A, and corporate planning. He became president and representative director of Marsh Japan in 2010.
Nakanishi graduate from the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration at Hosei University and received a master’s degree in Management Accounting from Senshu University Graduate School of Business Administration.
