Mikhail Vanyo

Marsh General Counsel

Since arriving in 2017, Misha has held a series of global roles for MMC and Marsh.  He has served as Chief Competition Counsel for MMC and Chief Counsel for Marsh Global Placement and Marsh Specialty.  In these roles, he has been a strategic advisor to Marsh leadership and successfully handled some of the most significant regulatory matters facing the company around the world, including the MMC/JLT acquisition clearance, the FCA’s Wholesale Insurance Broker Market Study, and various other matters.  He has also played a central role in drafting policies and guidance on competition law, conflicts of interest, and insurer revenue streams, as well as our client engagement during the Covid pandemic.

Before coming to MMC, Misha was a federal prosecutor with the US Department of Justice for several years, focusing on antitrust, fraud, and other white collar crimes.  Misha was also an associate at the global law firms Simpson Thacher and Bartlett and O’Melveny & Myers.  Misha clerked for the Honorable Robert W. Sweet in New York.  He was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School.
