The COVID-19 pandemic and the speed at which it caused the world to come to a halt has thrown us into a new and exceptional business environment. While other disasters or events may have put your organisation’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to the test, the ongoing impact of COVID-19 requires a closer analysis of the effectiveness of your BCP to respond to this current pandemic landscape.

A debrief is an essential aspect of Business Continuity Management as it helps to validate the effectiveness of the overall framework and its parts.

This debrief session is a specific deep-dive into the way your organisation responded to COVID-19 and the impact it has had and may continue to have on your organisation.

The session will provide an opportunity to take a close and honest look into your organisation’s pandemic response and help to ensure your BCP is fit to face any future challenges. The session explores:

  • What was done well 
  • What needs improvement 
  • Key weaknesses and vulnerabilities 
  • Ability to pivot in order to survive 
  • Effectiveness of the response so far
  • Reliability of resources 


What's involved?

This is a deep dive into the recent impact of COVID-19 and the Business Continuity response implemented. The session aims to reveal the good, the bad and the ugly in a safe space and without judgement. It also requires the participants to bring their experiences to date and any records relating to the response. The session will be about the event itself, the decisions made and the overall response - not about personnel. However, it will rely on those personnel who participated in the response to provide context to the session. A debrief report will be provided outlining the session outcomes and any necessary recommendations for improvement.


Who should participate?

  • All the participants of the event response, in particular the senior team members and decision makers
  • Risk and Insurance Managers 
  • Other personnel who may have played a key part in the response 


How it is delivered

The session will take approximately two to two and a half hours depending on the involvement and level of discussion.
