James Addington-Smith
President, Marsh Asia
James is the President for Marsh Asia, bringing in over 20 years of experience in risk management and insurance broking to the role. As the leader of the region, James oversees the business across 12 countries, helping clients in Asia to build resilience against the fast-evolving risk landscape in the region.
James has deep industry knowledge and experience in Asia – a region he and his family have called home for over 18 years. Since joining Marsh in 2010, James has taken on multiple leadership roles including Asia Marine Hull Leader, Asia Pacific Energy and Marine Leader and Asia Specialty Leader before being named South Asia CEO in 2019. Under his leadership, South Asia has become one of the fastest-growing sub-regions globally with phenomenal increase in revenue and client base. James assumed the role of President Marsh Asia in March 2023.
James is passionate about creating an inclusive and empowering workplace for Marsh employees and a sustainable future for the next generation. He currently also chairs Marsh’s ESG Committee in Asia.
