James Addington-Smith

CEO, Marsh Risk UK

James is CEO of Marsh Risk UK, working with the leaders of Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman to accelerate impact for our clients. Prior to this, he lived and worked in Asia for over 20 years. Most recently he was President of Marsh Asia, where he oversaw the business in 11 countries. He has also held senior roles as Southeast Asia CEO and Asia speciality leader.

James started his career as a marine broker in London in 2002 and moved to Hong Kong in 2005. He joined Marsh in Singapore in 2010.

Prior to joining the industry, James served as an officer in a British Army. He attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served in Germany, Poland, Canada and Oman. He has a degree from the University of Kent.
