Educating the Next Generation with Junior Achievement

MMC volunteers, in partnership with Junior Achievement (JA), delivered a series of lessons in October 2020.

JA is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Through a volunteer network, they focus on three key content areas: work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

MMC volunteers spent 1–1.5 hours of training by JA to give lessons to the beneficiaries. These volunteers spent between 3–4 hours teaching their students either via zoom or in class:

  • 4 virtual workshops on CV & Interviewing Skills by 40 volunteers to 80 students from NTU Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Junior College and Singapore Institute of Management.
  • 1 physical teaching program on Economics for Success by 16 volunteers to 8 classes of 200 students from the School of Science and Technology.
  • 1 virtual workshop on Presentation Skills presented by 12 volunteers to 6 classes of 200 students from Bedok South Secondary School.

Additionally, Marsh colleagues banded together to deliver a virtual class on Presentation Skills. Below is the “train the trainer” session as JA prepares our Marsh colleagues to deliver their lesson to six virtual classes of 35-40 students each on 23 October.
